Oakland, United States
Every Saturday evening I spend a few hours in a tiny, poorly lit radio studio in the most desolate and least gentrified part of San Francisco, where I press buttons that transmit sounds onto KXSF (102.5 FM), SF's newest (and easily best) terrestrial radio station. Mawkish Twaddle always include plenty of new tracks -- and some old but mostly unknown selections -- from genres like indiepop, post-punk, power pop, art rock, psych pop, indie rock, sunshine pop, soul, cold wave, bubblegum, yé-yé, krautrock, disco, folk rock, freakbeat, glam, honky tonk (well, rarely), and library and film music.
Oh, and except for year-end shows, I rarely spin songs I've played before.
In addition to listening to the archives here on Mixcloud, you can hear MT as I do it every Saturday night from 10 to midnight (Pacific time) via any radio contraption (transistor, receiver, shower radio, etc.) most places in SF, or anywhere on earth via the KXSF site (www.KXSF.fm), or via TuneIn, etc.
