Beirut, Lebanon
Now entering its 13th year, the Beirut Groove Collective (BGC) is the premier destination for obscure and underground clubbing records from the Middle-East, Africa and the rest of the world. For over a decade, the DJ collective has thrown a strictly vinyl clubnight in Beirut, which has built an international reputation for its distinctive sound and attracted some of the world's leading DJs, turntabalists, crate diggers and record collectors. In 2021, the BGC brought the BGC to London!
At their clubnights, the BGC play eclectic pioneering and rare records from the ‘60s-‘80s from around the world with a special focus on the music of Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Armenia, Ethiopia and Turkey – from Ethio Jazz and Bellydance Psych to Armenian Org Stompers, Lebanese Beat & Turkish Psych Rock.
The BGC combines the DJ efforts of BGC co-founder Ernesto Chahoud (BBE, NTS, Darsko), music journalist and DJ Natalie Shooter and filmmaker and DJ Jackson Allers, along with its global family of guest DJs.
