A Brummie by birth, I’m probably best summed up as a veteran muso! Musically, over the years, I’ve been an avid collector, a huge fan of quality bands from The Beatles to Bob Marley, from Benny Goodman to Gil Scott-Heron, from Bluegrass to Steve Earle, from The Jam to Radiohead…I could go on. Always into live music, I’ve been privileged to attend gigs by some major acts at the peak of their powers – The Who at The Valley in 1976, The Jam in my home town twice within a year in 1979, The Blockheads and Blondie around the same time. Favourite gig? Either Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’ tour from stage front at the NEC Arena in 97, or the religious experience that was Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at London’s O2 Arena in 2017. Starting late as a performer, I ended up fulfilling some serious life goals – not least of which is to present a grassroots music radio show from Liverpool, my spiritual home!!
