Bandu Da Deejay SA — born Thabo Lucky Modiakgotla — is a rising Mixtape DJ and music producer from Soweto, South Africa. His musical journey began at the young age of 12, when he started experimenting with beat-making, driven by a natural love for sound and rhythm.

Inspired by his childhood friend Nito, a rapper who introduced him to the world of hip-hop, Bandu learned to write lyrics and explore the creative side of music around 2016/2017. Their bond and shared passion laid the foundation for Bandu’s path in music production. In 2019, on the last day they saw each other, Nito introduced him to FL Studio (Fruity Loops) — a moment that sparked Bandu’s deeper dive into music creation.

By 2021, Bandu Da Deejay began teaching himself how to produce Amapiano — a genre that resonated with his evolving style and energy. With dedication, creativity, and a love for the craft rooted in his upbringing, Bandu continues to grow as a force in the South African music scene.
