When Manu Dibango recorded "Soul Makossa" in 1972 to put on the b-side of a 7 inch record which features and Hymn for the 8th African Nations Cup, nobody new that it would be a big hit in new york club/block parties, and that Dibango will pave the way for other west african musician to come to the USA to record funky music. Last sunday, exactly 46 years later, Cameroun won its fifth African Nations Cup! I am not found of football, but I want to celebrate this with one of the funkiest People of Africa! Also as a message of Unity in these troubled times. This mixs shows off the awesome dancefloor potential of 70's camerounese dance music, with Funk, Disco and Makossa. I tried to use my little Djing skills to enlight the High energy of the tracks. I hope you'll enjoy! And of course, RESPECT AUX LIONS INDOMPTABLES!!!
