Hailing from the south of France, Jeremy Guessoum a.k.a. DJ Azek moved to Thailand in 2005, where he started playing for local Drum & Bass movements Jazzbah Records and Yaak Party and the Bangkok underground radio UB Radio.
In 2010, DJ Azek together with partner in crime DJ Instinct founded the Phatfunk Bangkok massive, which has grown as one of the leading Drum & Bass night in the Asian metropolis. Recently, DJ Azek and friends have also launched The Boom-Bap, a night dedicated to non-mainstream quality Hip-Hop and Kontraband, a weekly event dedicated to deep liquid D&B in Bangkok.
Influenced by the jazzy and soulful sounds of labels like V Records or Soul:r and the American and European 90s Hip-Hop scene, Azek’s sets are fresh and funky. Such a musical energy has seen Azek busting tunes alongside international DJs such as Goldie, dBridge, Lenzman, Makoto, Sabre, Enei, Joe Syntax, Doc Daneeka, Futurebound, Mischief or Outrage.
