Are You Afro? is an international music and dance project that expounds upon the fact that all human beings come from Africa and with them, our collective music; distinct but linked to the continent of Africa. Are You Afro? suggests further that the global community is the personification of the polyrhythmic beats native to Africa. To ask Are You Afro? is to answer that we--artists, workers, architects and dreamers are one beat made of many.
Are You Afro? was born in Miami in 2010, when partners, DJ Dave K Pappa and Gale Murphy made a splash at the Miami Winter Conference with the Maude34 party
