Trained in both classical and jazz/blues music. Andreas Bennetzen enjoys a brilliant career as a modern solo double bassist. He is an official Yamaha Artist and plays a Silent Bass SLB100. He performs around the world and in almost all musical styles that is when he is not in the studio in his hometown Christiania in Copenhagen composing or working as an artist with Live Art Installation and Halfmachine.
With the release in 2009 of his live-looping solo album "Flowing in Circles" under the alias of Andy Benz, he made a powerful musical statement. Mixing elements of electronic music with his sublime instrumental knowledge into his own style using loop machines and effects he created a new genre just for himself and made way for the double bass into modern electronic instrumental music.
Andreas has composed several commissioned cross-over works for ensembles and festivals and received numerous grants.
