Andy Anderson is a drummer, notably for the bands Iggy Pop and The Cure and many others. He was born in West Ham, East London, England on 30 January 1951.
Andy worked on Hawkwind's Nik Turner's Sphynx album in 1978. He played with Steve Hillage on three albums, Green, Live Herald and Open, and had a brief stint in Hawkwind in 1983, but did not record with them. His tenure in that group was cut short when he played with The Glove on their first and only album Blue Sunshine.
He later joined The Cure as their drummer in 1983, after drummer Lol Tolhurst switched to keyboard duties. Andy recorded on the albums Japanese Whispers, The Top, and Concert. plus the Singles Love Cats and Caterpillar.
Andy left the band in October 1984 He has since then recorded music as a Session Musician, for TV commercials and record companies, and various music's such as album tracks/singles and charities etc.
