Daniel Leuenberger a.k.a. Almacalma, was born in Brighton (UK) in 1980. He grew up in the Swiss Alps, at the very foot of the Matterhorn, until his chilean mother decided it was time to go back to Chile. It was here, during his teenage years, that Daniel had his first encounters with electronic dance music, at underground parties in secret locations in downtown Santiago. In 1999, during a trip to Patagonia, Daniel went to his first outdoor trance party, which was the beginning of a whole new chapter! Today, Almacalma’s sets reflect both his uncompromising obsession for a good groove and his nature-loving, spiritual outlook on life.
After 8 fulfilling years, growing his chilean roots, Daniel decided to return to Switzerland in the year 2000 and started collecting the grooviest tracks he could lay his ears on. After many years of musical experimentation, Daniel’s first dj-sets as Almacalma resonated through the Swiss forests in the summer of 2008
