Berlin90 were formed in a Spanish jail in 1990 after singer & guitarist Allan McCarthy was convicted of drug-trafficking receiving a six and a half year sentence and a 65 million fine.
Entering a national music competition with a live recording of "Runaway" won a recording session at Pepe Moreno´s PM Studios where under armed guard they recorded "Stormy Waters".
They were headline news appearing on Spanish tv, radio and newspapers ending with Allan´s transfer to Madrid´s notorious Carabanchel max-security prison which featured in Netflix´s series "Narcos".
30 years later Allan met Angel Sopena a Spanish DJ/Journalist who covered the band in the early days and even after becoming one of Spain´s top personalities Angel never forgot the band playing their music and retelling their story.
Angel´s article based on their radio interview appeared as a double-page feature in over 20 newspapers reaching an audience of 23 million and the whole story has taken life again.
