Aliaskar Abarkas (1994) is an artist whose practice is rooted in alternative and communal art education. He stages choreographic encounters through music, exhibition and performance-making. Often in dialogue with historical sources, he builds collaborative frameworks that invite participants to interpret inherited scores moving between intimacy and collective expression at scale.
Most recently, his work has been presented at institutions including Busan Biennale (South Korea); 421 Arts Campus (Abu Dhabi); CAPC (Bordeaux); LOCALES (Rome); Scuola Piccola Zattere (Venice); and Whitechapel Gallery, Barbican Centre, ICA, YDP, CIRCA and LUX (London).
Abarkas is based in London and currently an Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells / Rose Choreographic School (2024–26).
