Alan has always been into music and radio. His introduction into broadcasting came in 1994 from winning a competition held by Bob Harris on GLR. Bob then invited Alan to join him in the studio as part of the studio team at GLR where Bob gave him the nickname Motorcycle Alan, Radio 2 and occasionally on Radio 1 so he learnt the business from the best. Alan and Bob remain firm friends to this day.
Alan presented shows on Radio Caroline for seventeen years, gaining a dedicated following, until Nov 2022 when he left.
Alan is now presenting shows on EKR. A radio station which broadcasts across Kent and East London 24 hours a day. You can hear his weekly show on Monday at 8am , repeated at 2pm Thursday. (All timings UK time).
