Workshops began in summer 2008 from a local City Learning Centre, working with a small group to make a live programme. The project developed into 'The Young and Proud Podcast' – a series of downloadable programmes on issues ranging from money to music and often including a live musical act. The whole show is produced and presented by participants and have become a platform for young people to express their views to the policy makers in the area.

The project which is now entering its fifth year, has resulted in many of the young people going on to gain work experience in the media.
