Hugo lives in Porto (Portugal), and using the words of the artist Ernesto de Sousa, is an 'aesthetic operator'. Hugo has a degree in Visual Arts/Painting (Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, 2001), and a master in Musical Arts (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 2013). In 1999, with Rui Oliveira and Tiago Pina, he created the Muesli Colectivo, the trio responsible for the 'Noites Belas' at Meia Cave, Aniki Bóbo or Labirintho.
Since 2003, he collaborates with Matéria Prima (Porto) and, among many other actions, he is part of the curatorial team of the exhibition 'Musonautas, Visões e Avarias 1960-2010 - 5 decades of musical restlessness in Oporto'.
