This week, Third Place speaks with Edwin Edwards, former Congressman and Governor of Louisiana and leading Democratic candidate in the race for the Louisiana 6th Congressional District this November. Host David Brown asks EWE some questions you won't hear on the corporate media or from Jim Engster this election cycle, like the former Congressman's voting record on environmental issues, how he'd vote in Congress on the Israel/Palestinian conflict and sanctions on Iran, and what the Congress should do about the gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the Supreme Court in 2013. We also ask Mr. Edwards about what he'd like to see changed in the Affordable Care Act, why he's for an increased federal minimum wage, and his stance on immigration reform. We didn't always get clear answers - Mr. Edwards dodged the questions about Iran and the Voting Rights Act - but Third Place and Baton Rouge Community Radio is the only place in Baton Rouge where you'll hear interviews like this.
