David Brown and Taylor Spicer interview metro council members Denise Marcelle and Buddy Amoroso on Councilwoman Marcelle's proposed "Fairness Ordinance" that would extend legal protections and "protected class" status to additional members of our community based on their service as veterans, their gender identity and sexual orientation. This represents the third try to extend some additional recognition or protections for members of the local LGBT community. Without the engagement of many more Baton Rougeans in the political process, the prospects for passage, so far, do not look good.
