When Is No Really No
00:00
How do you know when no is really no? No sometimes just means no, not right now. Does that mean never? No. Keep engaged but no need to meet with these prospects weekly or monthly but put them on your update list, send them your quarterly newsletters. Ask if you can keep in contact. Example: Patti earned the right by the 4th year of a “No” answer from a foundation grants officer and now the area is partially funded by this source.
No is no when people stopped being engaged. No is better than nothing – nothing means you haven’t been told no or yes. But if a person appears to be able to fund you, if they have a heart for Christ and for young people – Ask. A “no” may just mean not now but you can keep asking. A permanent no is – take me off your mailing list. The online PPL has all the lapsed donors from your area - You can send out a lapsed donor letter – Sometimes a no is a no when you don’t know. Follow the steps in TDS.
