Pat Rhoades Interviews Field Development Directors

Interim Director of Field Development, Pat Rhoades interviews Field Development Directors Brad Gentry and Mark McKinley.  Brad Gentry from eastern Washington State, has been with Young Life for 8 years.  He spent 7 years as an area director.  Mark McKinley from Portland, OR has spent the last 5 years in Field Development after many years of involvement in YL through his own kids.  Mark says, “Step 1 is funding – without funding nothing happens.  We get money so we can get the kids to camp.”  When areas are in need Mark helps them assemble teams, choose a TDS Chair and then helps them implement their TDS plan. 
Brad got more involved in fundraising and fundraising training after watching areas go in and out of deficit and struggle financially.  He relies on the faith that God is a God of abundance.  Why are their issues and how can we address them with a belief that God has more than enough?  Brad tries to raise awareness of all the fundraising tools we have, he trains areas to use the
