Inner World 021 - Exek

Coinciding with the release of their latest album, Advertise Here, is this hour long mix from Exek for our Inner World series. We've talked long and hard about the band's unique combination of dub-y post-punk, art rock and lyrical ingenuity, and here they bring some of those influences to the fore, while introducing a few curveballs along the way. Can, Bush Tetras, Flying Lizards et al make obvious sense, though the inclusion of that Wilco tracks makes a connection with their pop-motorik i'd not previously put together. A great mix, classic tracks and unexpected oddities alike, and more than anything else, a reminder to listen to more Exek whenever you've the chance.
