Inspired mostly by the records that I dug in Kyoto and Osaka Feb 2026. The record shops in Japan are plentiful, and the selections of all things jazz, jazz-funk, soul, funk, disco, and house are phenomenal. What struck me most is the meticulous presentation of the records and how well they were looked after. Usually when I bring a second-hand record home, I need to clean it first, but in this case, I needed to clean my needle, so that it didn't contaminate the pristinely clean records, which in some cases are 50 or 60 years old. As always, thank you for the music.
