I never went to the Lockup
Until I chanced upon a little tommyknocker
He gave me some string and told me go pull on the thing

So I pulled on the string
and here's the most curious thing
It opened a time door and I went travelling

Unravelled in a TV Studio
Can playing students in a row
Vaguely punk maybe funk watch Jaki go

Irmins chops pulled the string asunder
Back of Dad's car a Hillman Hunter
Disco beats, sticky seats, heading south in the sun

Lightning cracks and I scream out loud
Just past the sign for Stroud
it singed the wing and disabled the string

So I never got back
I live in a 70's council flat
Don't think of the string used it to repair the wing
