“I’ll Pray for You”

Do you ever sincerely tell someone, “I will pray for you,” and then forget to pray? I often do just that: I say, “I will pray for you,” or “You will be in my prayers,” and then I get busy with my own agenda.

So I have devised some ways to remind myself to pray, and perhaps they will be helpful to you:

If I am going to be home for the day, I place a lighted candle on my kitchen counter. Then when I see the candle, I stop and pray.
I put the person’s name on Post-It notes and place the notes in areas which I frequent during the day: my car, bathroom mirror, or refrigerator door.
I write the person’s name on my daily to-do-list or calendar.
Use one’s prayer journal as a reminder.

I hope these suggestions will help you and me to keep our promises when we promise to pray for someone who is struggling.
