The year 1959 was a blockbuster year for Jazz. The 1-hour weekly program "Jazz59" is a new documentary-style series that examines the music, artists and innovation of that time, which forever shaped modern jazz. We'll probe into the ideas and techniques used by jazz giants such as John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis and many others in what became a wave of free-style, avante-garde experimentation. "Jazz59" also covers today's artists and innovation as jazz continues to evolve. A "must" listen for any serious jazz fan.
