About this restoration:
The original recording was captured on cassette with a battery-operated boom box 40 miles north of Chicago. The check was heavily scoped and suffered from lots of static and a fading signal. I managed to capture clips from the AM, afternoon, and night shows. However, this restoration focuses only on the afternoon show featuring the voice talent of Terry Fox.
For clarity - this is NOT the original aircheck. I used a suite of AI and audio editing software - along with original audio (and AI-restored audio) to restore and recreate, as closely as I could, the actual broadcast as it aired at approximately 2:30 p.m. on August 7th, 1996.
The songs in this aircheck are presented in the order they aired, with two exceptions. Quad City DJ's "C'Mon 'N Ride It" (which aired much earlier in the day and was also on the aircheck) and Buffy's "Give Me a Reason" were used in sections where the original recording was unsuitable or unusable.
