nychta

this is a strange study of a time of dance punk/industrial music between 1980-1989. i have been looking for dark wave, synth pop, other dance music that belongs in the club but hasn't been in ones i have ever attended. i wanted to break away from a traditional night life that is channeling bangers on the radio and house music of the last 20 years. i wanted to see what it would be like to get specifically not sexy and get specifically weird. what if people danced with their arms? what if outfits were based on sculptures? Not that there is anything wrong w a sexy club with bangers but what other nightlife space are there? What are ones we have yet to tap into? How do you and others engage in this ritual of having the sun be gone for an extended period of time? I think about my reverence for the night and this is how i want it to sound for now.
