“Who do we want our church to be and what kind of facility will enable us to become that church?” Our congregation faced that question in 1956, when the members chose to move from First Unitarian’s previous location on 11th and High Streets downtown to Bell Ave. We asked that question of ourselves in 2004 and our answers led to a renewal and expansion of our building that gave us “room to bloom.” Now, with more people participating in our congregation than ever before, it is time to ask the question again. To kick-off a lay-led process of congregational engagement and dreaming over the next few months, Mark shares some stories from the past and offers a vision for what could be possible for us in the days to come.
