Qwerty Pop: a typewriter-based compilation

About the show

Playing tracks by

Asha Bhosle & Kishore Kumar, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Shorty Petterstein aka Henry Jacobs, Introduction, Les Luthiers and more.

Sticky Institute asked me to compile a mixtape based around the theme of typewriters to accompany their typewriter-centric festival 'I AM TYPEWRITER: The Triumph Of Continued Usefulness'. The celebration (2nd-13th of Feb) culminates in a zine fair held on Saturday 12th February 2011, 1-6pm in Degraves Subway (below Flinders Street) in Melbourne, VIC. For more information visit www.stickyinstitute.com

This mix comes with an accompanying zine explaining the background to the artists included and some illustrations and that. It is available to buy here: http://maildept.stickyinstitute.com/tag/leroy+anderson

Fantastic -- thanks! My friend Robert Messenger sent me your zine and I've enjoyed your playlist. See my own typewriter playlist here:

I'm working on a book about typewriters in the 21st century and will give you credit in a section on typewriters and music.

Wow that's fantastic! Thank you! I'll have to listen to the songs you've mentioned too, there was evidently a lot I didn't find!

Zines found in toilet rooms can produce lovely surprises. Excellent work.
