April's Dozen opens and closes with new Omar tracks. 'The Man' has been looping since it landed in my inbox and his reworking of 'There's Nothing Like This' featuring Pino Palladino's bass is sublime. Manchester's Chimpo also features twice. Been waiting for Gaza (featuring one of my all time favourite DnB MCs - Trigga) to be released for ages, it's a dancefloor bomb. Cali's An-ten-nae has an album out and has also reworked his remix of Soom T's 'Dirty Money', I prefer his original remix but this is still a good use of the vocal. Ghosty has an LP coming on Portland imprint TwerkOut, if the Waveshifter EP that 'Viscous' comes from is representative - buy it. The Mr Scruff remix of Herbie Hancock is the stand out track on the Ninja/IF records Record Store Day release, and finally this month there's 3 excellent digi dubs from Edinburgh's Riddim Tuffa. Not sure what dubby chemical is in the water up there but Riddim Tuffa and Mungo's HiFi are clearly drinking from the same tap.
