Today's show contemplates how one can turn negative energy into a force for good. We request that you consider looking for answers in silhouettes, belonging, spiritual callings, ancient habits, and histories of the marginalized. I have mixed feelings about using the 1916 graphic of Frances Densmore recording Blackfoot chief Mountain Chief. This was captured at the Smithsonian Institution for the Bureau of American Ethnology and represent an era when "government policy encouraged native Americans to adopt Western customs" but Native American people, their leaders, and scholars like Densmore resisted.
