Back in the day - yep, I do know what that makes me sound like - we actually let records run their course for a moment before frantically mixing the next track in, double-coating everything with a thick layer of delays, filtering and flangers. I think the most used special effect was a rude backspin to kick off nontrivial tempo changes ;)

So this is what we're going for here: get them on the dance floor first, with some mellow and relaxed beats that go straight to your hips and head-nodding facilities. Once you got them, .. oh, but why spoil the surprise:
