In the mid-eighties there was a UK jazz revival, spearheaded by artists such as Courtney Pine and Andy Sheppard. For a while jazz crossed over into the mainstream, through bands like Working Week, Incognito and Galliano. But like most revivals it eventually petered out and jazz returned to the underground with a minority appeal. Fast forward to recent years and surprisingly another revival is underway, with many young bands beginning to break through to the mainstream. This mix represents my take on the state of UK jazz in the 21st century. I’m sure I could have picked a completely different selection, but these are some bands I’m checking out at the moment. Enjoy!

beautifully mixed and paced............
Superb set! Besides some beloved artists quite a few great musicians, who are new to me. Kneel Down: captivating-nostalgic melody. Masterful transition to “From A to B”, phenomenal music piece. It awakes some reminiscences of Vijay Iyer (Human Nature’s Jazz makeover). Dry Ops is simply mind-blowing, Transmigration…wow…Splendid and highly instructive session. Thanks, DJ2tee.
Fabulous set......quality and quantity in equal measure ! I'm really lovin' this one......a lot of new discoveries for my ears, thank you DJ2tee for sharing your excellent mixes with us ! Respect !!!
Grazie mille Massimiliano
My brother ; The sudden attacks were successful ; i enjoyed bleed and spills of the harsh engagements and brought out those points of a cease fire; especially during tune 'Speak To Us Of Love ' WONDERFUL tactics ; Mate ; 0
Yeah! I aimed for some moments of calm in the trenches, before going over the top with instruments blazing jazz fury. Peace my friend.

Thanks Dick - Just thought I’d big up the UK scene. Mostly available, but a few that don’t get much kudos.
