I thought to myself when did I start, and why do I celebrate this day? I did my research, to my surprise the origins of this holiday does not have anything to do with love. Could this just be another materialistic consumer tradition? Maybe.A deeper look into the tradition of Valentine’s Day may lead you to believe you are allowed to put a price on love. The buying and receiving of gifts gives both men and women a way of validating the love they both share. Sounds like the act of materializing love. We are participate in a day in which love has a measurement.So, when and why did I start? This tradition started sometime in grade school when I was young.
