Oh, I love this Brooklyn Funk Essentials rework very much! ❤️
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Rob.
It’s great isn’t it András? Thanks for listening mate 😊
@compositionunknown So nice, mate!
Loved the whole musical journey here so far.
Great work, Rob! 😎
@Furio_Frakes you’re a gent, very pleased you liked it 🙏
Why, what is this emerging from the otherwordly dissonance?
It's a mystery, vaquero, but it's fifty-fifty parallel universe and haunted nursery.
Some remix, would never have imagined that was Brooklyn Funk Essentials. Sounded marvellous next to SAULT.
Good to have Dry Cleaning back. Do you think she just sits around buses and coffee shops with her phone on record, then cuts up the eavesdroppings for lyrics? It always sounds like it.
It does feel like something surfacing — a shape rising out of static, half lullaby, half apparition. The Calibre remix is a small magic trick: Brooklyn Funk Essentials passing through a wormhole and reappearing somewhere gentler, stranger, perfectly at ease beside SAULT’s quiet gravity. And Dry Cleaning… it really does sound like she’s harvesting the margins of the day — bus stops, coffee queues, the poetry people don’t know they’re speaking — then letting it hover, unpolished, just long enough to haunt you.
@compositionunknown Very eloquently put! 🙌
@LordBrettHeadset you set the standards m’lud 🙏
Including Jim Jarmusch is a brilliant touch, because this mix could be an alternate soundtrack for Dead Man. Really very well done. Thanks!
I’ve never seen Dead Man, and I don’t know why. Night on Earth and Cigarettes and Alcohol were really big films for me. I must delve deeper into his back catalogue.
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and feedback. Very much appreciated.
@compositionunknown It's been decades since I've seen it, and the atmosphere is very different from the two movies you mention, but the film is highly regarded and has, as I recall, a mildly comical weird west vibe. I need to see it again! I wonder what it would be like to watch it Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz style and play your mix at the same time...
magical, mirage conjuring stuff - this is brilliant!
..."I've been through the desert on a horse with five legs" - jeez, do I know the feeling cowboy!
beautifully selected & blended with an aridly beguiling theme.
P🧙♂️🙏🍷
excellent heavier close-out!
meant to say: cheers for featuring a track by Mong Tong - I got one piece by them a few years back (which I liked a lot) and meant investigate them more. the hapstance reminder is appreciated! 🖖
Mirage music feels right — things wavering at the edge of focus, heat-hazed and half-imagined. That five-legged horse is very familiar territory: moving forward without quite knowing how, carried by rhythm and stubbornness rather than clarity. I’m glad the thread comes through as arid but inviting — less desolation, more strange shelter — like finding shade where you didn’t expect it.
@compositionunknown poetry in motion - pretty neat summary of my response to the music as I listened. ✊🖖
