Lovely and imaginative set as ever.

Who was that gorgeous but Shazam-proof version of Stormy by? The Gabor Szabo version nearly made it into a recent set of mine but didn't make the edit.

Hearing the first husband's elegant take on Ida Lupino tugged at the heartstrings a bit. We shan't see Carla Bley's like again.

Talking of tugging at the heartstrings, bold move there with the epic Prefab Sprout odyssey. Wondered how you were going to come out of that anywhere festive but South American Getaway won't ever fail to lift the spirits (Two copies of that in our household! I've got Portrait In Music and the other half's got the Butch Cassidy soundtrack.)

Sweet job. Seasons greetings if we don't swap comments before the holidays- John

Thanks John, your feedback made my day as per. You should write reviews for a living.

I'll post the track list in a bit but, Stormy is Gabor Szabo. It's off his 'Live with Charles Lloyd' album. Very different from his original version isn't it? Recorded in '72 and sounds like it.

I love South American Getaway, it's always been a welcome earworm for me. I'm not sure bringing it in over the previous track worked as well as I'd hoped but I was determined to finish on it, like a right good pudding.

Seasons greetings to you and yours too John.

Rob.

Wow, so that was Gabor Szabo as well? Very different.

I thought the last two tracks worked well. Only the second time I've ever heard the Prefab Sprout track but it drew me right in. It works more like a film or a short story than a piece of music in some ways. It would have been quite a blue place to have ended though, so it was good to have the pure joy of Bacharach as an emotional palate freshener.
