Playing tracks by
Stevie Wonder, Squarepusher, Wayne Newton, Norman MacKay, Blackalicious and more.
It’s 1990, it’s the last day of term at Kincorth Academy and it was the chance to wear what we wanted, bring in games and listen to music. I brought in a mixtape of brass band music which, surprisingly, didn’t go down too well. I dusted myself off and headed to HMV where I bought ‘The Hit Pack’. There’s a few classics on there but there’s some corkers too. A rapping Gazza ‘singing’ Fog on the Tyne? I wish I’d stuck to my brass band guns.
Present day, after many failed attempts at creating my ultimate-favourite-tunes-of-all-time-compilation, I’ve resorted to choosing the content of this mix by featuring the tracks most played on my ipod. There’s a story attached to every song but you’ll be glad to know I’ve removed them for your listening pleasure. You might like it, you might not but at least it’s mine…
