Girl...Guy......Code..?

I was asked to speak on how long you should wait to mess around with someone your friend has had dealings with in the past, or an ex in most cases. My opinion is way off for the most part, but it's how I felt about the situation I was in and situations I've witnessed! Often times, we talk about the code of girls and guys not realizing that a lot of times, certain situations shouldn't be considered as "violating the code." However, there are some instances where the code shouldn't be violated. I talk about a scenario of both and give my opinion based on past experience and how I felt at the time.
