In 1988, a comedian was launched into the action genre. From the roof to the elevator shafts and even the circle of Nakatomi Plaza, Bruce Willis, then famous for being David Addison of Moonlighting fame, rocketed into one of the biggest blockbuster films that has launched 4 sequels and stars John McClane as a cop battling terrorists.
This week, Doug, Mike, and a guest host, Stephen Ring, discuss what is considered by some to be “The Greatest Christmas Movie Ever” (Stephen considers it that; the rest of us consider it a movie that takes place at Christmas). We wax poetic about Alan Rickman, aka Metatron, aka Severus Snape, Reginald Veljohnson, aka Carl Weathers from Family Matters, and a slew of people trying to rob the Japanese for $640 million in bonds. We get some great quotes – “Yippee-ki-yay, mother fucker!” – and we get to see some awesome explosions, barefoot glass running, and Germans who don’t speak German.
Join us as we discuss a favorite of the 80s action film genre, Die Hard.
