The P&N improvised mix series returns after a long hiatus with a little doozy I cooked up. It opens with a Stan Kenton/Tosca/DJ Shadow blend and doesn't look back. About halfway in I get into some reggae that ends up riding out for the rest of the mix before closing with another tasty jazz blend. Highlights (IMHO):
21:09 - Gladys Knight/RJD2 - This is why I love the improvised mix. Right after I drop the RJ beat, The Pips blast this loud-ass harmonica which almost makes me lose my bearings, but ends up turning into a nice blend.
31:04 - The New Birth/Metal Fingers - When I pulled up The New Birth, I remembered the Doom blend from P&N 4 and couldn't resist having another go at it.
47:07 - Horace Andy/Bassnectar/Barrington Levy (f. Beanie Man) - I don't know, the planets were just aligned for this one. The levels could have been better, maybe I'll have to revisit this later.
