MAHA: Make America Healthy Again
Since the tumultuous 2020 election and the Capitol incident labeled as the “January 6 the insurrection,” it has become increasingly clear to many that the tides of American freedom are shifting. In the wake of this event, mainstream media and Big Tech clamped down on conservative voices, intensifying a narrative that painted Donald Trump and his supporters as threats to democracy rather than its champions.
Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and notably Twitter (now known as X, prior to Elon Musk’s acquisition) restricted Trump’s online presence, silencing his ability to connect directly with the public.
The media machine was unified in presenting Trump as an authoritarian, even equating him to a "Nazi," a portrayal many found unfounded and highly politicised. Yet beneath these portrayals lay a deeper struggle—one that would ultimately fuel a national movement.
Unmasking the Bias
Among many Americans, there has long been a sense that Trump’s battles extended beyond the Democratic Party, reaching into the heart of a powerful, entrenched establishment—the so-called "Deep State"—that viewed him as an existential threat. This establishment, steeped in the tradition of benefiting financially from perpetual war and global intervention, found Trump’s policies on economic empowerment, lower unemployment, and non-interventionism fundamentally incompatible with its goals. His resistance to military conflicts abroad and focus on revitalizing America’s economy and manufacturing base ran counter to interests profiting from conflict. By 2024, after years of impeachment attempts, media-driven defamation, and social media censorship, Trump had sparked something powerful: a grassroots awakening that the media and establishment couldn’t control or suppress.
The Awakening of the American Public
As a Mexican observer, I’ve often noted how Americans have been seen as easily influenced by narratives and social conformity.
