Diggin' Peru

Diggin' Peru

00:00

I was traveling with Eva around Peru from October 2016 to January 2017, and I found a beautiful country. Also, I got that fever, and I collected a ton of 45's of Peruvian music. From south American classic styles such as cumbia and guajira, you'll hear the traditional peruvian sound, the huayno (Andean songs) and some chicha and psychedelic stuff. I fell in love with Peru and the sound on this mixtape brings to me lovely memories, climbing the Machu Picchu, drinking chica (yeah, that's also the name of a traditional peruvian dink), eating mangos in Mancora... and also diggin' in little markets. All this 45's came from El Baratillo (Cusco) and a few unnamed stores in Jirón Quilca street (Lima). I can tell you that you'll hear a lot of clicks and pops because this records were in a super poor condition, but I did my best cleaning it. I will never forget this trip, and I wish to go there someday one more time. I hope this is a little homage to this lovely and mystic culture.
