Some favourites from Juan Atkins’ legendary Detroit label Metroplex. It stuns me to think the oldest of the tracks featured here are from 1985! It just goes to demonstrate the classic, timeless sound that was being created even back then by one of the true pioneers of the game. I just love how Metroplex never stuck to one style, so you hear raw electro, deep emotive tracks, spaced out minimal grooves and straight up jackin’ techno sat side by side across the catalogue. So that’s what I’ve tried to include here, spanning the labels first run in the 80’s, second run in the 90’s & 00’s, right up to more modern releases.
