As you read this Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are speeding through the Heliosheath, the outermost layer of our suns influence, some 18 billion kilometres from here.
Someday this solar system, and sometime after that, this universe, will no longer be capable of supporting life. All we have done will amount to nothing eventually, but in our time we can do amazing things, as individuals, as groups and as a species representing life on this tiny bluegreen dot.
The voyager dream is high art, beautiful in its ambition and futility. Its the most significant insignificant thing we have achieved to date. Well done us.
