Part 1 of a mix series exploring a cycle of depression.
When you begin to get depressed you might become sluggish and fatigued. You might be irritable or have more of a temper than usual. As it takes hold, the basic routines of life become energy-sapping chores. Optimism begins to recede. You stop doing things you enjoy and take up new hobbies such as staring at walls, forgetting to eat & sleeping a lot. You might fall off the rails entirely and begin to retreat from normal society.
