What Really Counts
-In this chapter, Paul says some strong things about what counts in his life and the kind of difference it makes in our lives when we make the right decisions about what is going to really count for us.
-What Paul has discovered has much more worth than all of what he had previously built his life on was the surpassing value of knowing Jesus as his Lord.
-Paul had experienced the forgiveness and life that had been won for him by Jesus and it was so much better than his desperate way of living before.
-Does that mean that all of those things that make our lives comfortable and special are worth nothing? Hardly!
-In comparison to one thing—our connection to Jesus—all those other things are worthless!
