A Lesson From Abraham

A Lesson From Abraham

Scripture Reading - Genesis 12:1-20
Redeemed: What do we learn from Abraham’s story?
The Bible speaks more about Abraham’s failures and sins than his good works.
Abraham’s righteousness was credited to him by God, not earned by himself...and he knew and believed it.
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about-- but not before God. What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”-Rom. 4:1-3
[Jesus said] “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing My day; he saw it and was glad.” - John. 8:56
God’s grace is more powerful than your sin and failure.
But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
