The pandemic has kept us all from the dance parties we love. This mix is meant to accumulate all that we miss into a big ball of gratitude. The first track, "Bring it Back", has recordings of voice mails left by people sharing what they miss (see quotes below). I also layered those voicemail messages into track 17, "Love Away" (1hr2min), as a reprise to echo the sentiment. Share what you miss by adding a comment!
Please take time to listen to the last three tracks, "The Blues" (1hr6min), "Summertime" (1hr12min), and "Temptation" (1hr17min) They have the words and voices of Gil Scott-Heron from “Bicentennial Blues” (1976), Ella Fitzgerald's rendition (1968) of George Gershwin’s Summertime (1934), and The Temptations' "I'm Losing You" (1966), respectively. A great block of African American soul in a 3am style bass thumping format.
