SOUNDVISION feat. special guest David Curtis-Ring (05/06/2021)

My June guest is the talented artist, set designer and art director David Curtis-Ring. We speak about symbolism, sygils, and sound effects.

We play film soundtrack from The Dark Crystal, Woodkid, covert underground recording, a dramatic harp piece commissioned for Davids' graduation film. We speak about how his ideas form, how synaesthesia is probably present in all thinking and about his collaborations with menswear designer Craig Green.

David and I met on a short film directed by Kyoko Miyake set on a pig farm/women's refuge, where nothing is what it seems. Trivia fact fans, this was the second time I have expertly chopped wood with a massive axe in character.
