THE STORY goes that modern bebop Jazz was born at Minton’s Playhouse, located in Harlem at the corner of 118th st & 7th ave. The building still stands, reopened as the Uptown Lounge at Minton’s Playhouse in 2006. I’ve never been, though I imagine (here) that it was home to some of the best barback work ever.
