This is a dubstep mix. Look at me, branching out. Dubstep aficionados will probably take offense to me calling most of the tracks dubstep, because they are quite left-field & relatively ambient - but that's what I love about the genre, so there! There's quite a bit of stuff by Audiovoid, whom I love because the dude isn't afraid to get truly weird. I mean, dubstep already has a lot of weird sounds, but this guy just runs it all through a black hole for consumption. However the standout for me is "Oni (Om Unit's Wrongspeed)," which is such a tight groove as to be funky, approaching music for a cyber-voodoo ritual. Also of note is Disprove, whose "Gear Bot" has such a heavy sound that the drums are almost superfluous. I also enjoy dubstep because it has an intrinsic sense of humor - many of the sounds, as amazing as they sound on a big system, are just goofy - and something that kicks hard *and* is goofy just hits a sweet spot for me.
